Press shift + O in game to open the dev console. There you can type something like "[roriPoints]" (with the quotes) and hit enter and it will show you the score. Just replace the name with the character you want to see.

It was really cool talking to you codanon at FWA, I'm gonna be downloading the game on my main pc now. I already played it on the way back from FWA on my laptop but I'd figure to add it to my main pc so I can get myself ready for Chapter 5!

Last time I played the demo was around 2022, I was wondering if you got rid of some scenes or have them on hold. In an older version the literature teacher was pretending to be a student while I was trying to do her route but during the most recent version of the wip those scenes never happened. Also I may have remembered incorrectly but I thought the demo went on a bit longer after getting the news from the doctor in chapter 4 but after that and going back to the dorm the demo ended.
Played through the whole thing. I mean, I really like how my most favoirte "bleeding" quadrant is present in the story, that being the vulgar, the stupid, the wise and the dead. I literally don't care if you delete this reply, here's my unsolicited critique:
Main Character (MC) is a box of hammers level of dense. As in, he's not estabilished across the arc in a meaningful way that allows the player to either inhibit him, or roleplay as yourself, meaning that at any given point, how you present yourself in the VN is contradicting itself. This is not saved by the five main supporting characters within the story being written really well (kudos for writing the black coffee girl, you know who I'm talking about).
The pacing is a little jarring initially, with the segments about daily drama at the first 3 chapters dragging out incessantly, which where credit is due, later on get polished nicely into a functional stream of events between the characters, important occurences and trivia.
Now onto the good stuff; Writing of characters is phenomenal. I say this as someone who's probably the straightest person on this platform, but I do fancy how these characters respond diegetically, non-monolithically and generally showcase a genuine spark of personality during encounters. That's a big strong point of this, and the relationships are written in a very mature way, that's very realistic.
Secondly, shit just keeps hitting you. That's very good. Absurdly good in a story centered about a single area, roughly decoupled from people living in it by virtue of being old. And the way characters are written, to have traits that work in the world, instead of a vacuum are worth capitalising on. Traits are beneficial, but they can be anything in a given context, they can be detrimental, funny, or precious depending on the writing, which is a good sign.
All in all, tldr; I'm a chubby chaser, and I give this game a resounding HAM out of SPAM. Even made an account just to say this.
There's 3 songs commissioned for Coda, composed by Mere Notilde, that you can listen to here with download links in the descriptions. Most of the rest of the soundtrack is provided by Vylet Pony and there are links to each of those songs in the credits in the game. This is a somewhat outdated playlist of the Vylet songs.
I created an account just to say this. I’m a huge fan of the game (specifically Rori). Although what I find out of character is that immediately after you have a heart to heart with him and take his virginity, you both agree to “take a break and find out more about yourselves”. I just feel like it would be more in character for a relationship to predate sex for Rori. I don’t mean to sound like someone who knows more about the character than the creator or anything but I just feel like having the choice to pursue him right after would add to the wholesome experience for Rori’s route. Looking forward to chapter five!
I kinda agree, it's more of a fanservice thing. Plus he was drunk. I could add something to lead lead up to it more or have them talk about it more after. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Awesome! Not enough people touch on romance and the ideas of true love in any literature now, so when I heard what Rori wanted I connected to it on a personal level. I felt like all the routes were great character wise and provided unique paths to what love is. Anyway, point is I think you created absolute kino.
it almost felt like i was reading through for the first time with how things were restructured, for the better imo, the added side conversations on certain events (that ive found so far) for certain events really grounds the scenarios, im almost sure ive had similar talks with friends before! and generally the tone feels, relatively less bleak compared to before.
Is there a separate path for different characters, like if I'm a dick to Claire, and buddy up with rori is there more dialogue. I've only played once and I went along with claire ignoring the bird as well but the campfire scene made me wonder if there's like other routes that unlock more dialogue, if so can you tell me how thanks🤓
There are more variations and branching paths the further into the game we get. It would be way too hard to list every path even now. Just experiment with different choices and see what happens!
A compelling story presented with good writing, good art even where it's just sketches, and catchy music.
It's also realistic, with perfectly nice girls I'm not interested in practically throwing themselves at me, while the one I'm really interested in tries very hard to be unobtainable, *sigh".
This game is already worth playing in its unfinished state, and could be really good once it's finished.
Anyway, I wanted to suggest selling the game here for "name your own price", as I'm sure some people would be willing to donate to you that way, since it's less friction than having to make an account with yet another external service.
The old versions are horribly outdated and not very good haha. I know people want to see the scenes in the longer demos but they're currently being revised and implemented in a new way, so I ask that Coda enjoyers be patient and wait for new releases.
I have to know, was the line "my parents died of that damned disease, three years ago" a reference to Silent Hill 2? That was the first thing that shot to my brain reading that XD
First time hearing about this game, and Im glad I happened to hop on during an upbeat update! Extinction themes generally get me pretty melancholy, so I'm hoping I can hold on for the presumably more gloomy later chapters. By the way, does the endling player have a "default" or "canonical" design? I had a silly doodle idea and wanted to know if he had an official appearance before making something up.
Time to make another generic excited comment, haha! Jk, Super glad to see an update and I love what I see so far, it feels deeper than the last demo with a bit more meat to it, and I think some extra emotions from the cast being expressed goes a long way towards that. It feels like I'm playing it for the first time. I'm also glad that I don't feel so sad after getting to the end of the last demo now! If there was a patreon someday I'd definitely throw some cash at your project to make sure each cast member gets the attention paid to their sprites that they deserve! I'll try not to get too anxious waiting for the next update, take your time to get it looking and reading how you want it to.
Maybe, if there's any serious demand for one. I've tried making renpy work on android before and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't tried with Coda. Playing a VN on a phone sounds awful but if there's someone out there who doesn't have a computer then maybe it's worth it.
The music files should just be in the audio folder. Mere Notilde wrote 3 songs for the game and let me use a 4th he wrote prior. The rest of the soundtrack is mostly composed by Vylet Pony.
I fell in love with the game! I'll keep an eye out for future updates hehe.
I also loved the characters, especially Claire! She started out as a character that didn't generate anything for me, making me jealous when someone else approached her.

Yes, the whole thing got rewritten and scenes shuffled around. There's still a lot of old content that will show up in the future.

I love this VN so much, but the mobile version's bottom UI is minuscule, and makes it very difficult to press menu :(
I haven't done much testing on the mobile version. I'll see what I can do.
